Geoff, a long time hunter and patron of Karoo Wild, brought his friends the Lacey family to hunt with us on a 10 day safari. Jason guided Daniel and Jaco guided Ian on their hunt in the Eastern Cape. Geoff and I hunted with them for 6 days before flying to Limpopo Province to hunt up there for some species not found in the Eastern Cape.
We hunted out of of our main area at Karoo Wild Lodge for kudu, impala, steenbok, springbok and nyala with some time at our concession in the Camdeboo mountains to hunt gemsbok and warthog. Whilst up in the Camdeboo, the Lacey's were able to view elephant, rhino and buffalo and also enjoy a day visit to the historical town of Graaff Reinet. A highlight of their trip was surely being mock charged by an elephant whilst hunting and coming into very close contact with white rhino around the lodge.
It was a terrific 10 days and we thank our new friends for hunting and vacationing with us.
