My wife and I have just returned from an 8-day, 7-night safari with Victor and Lindsay at Karoo Wild Safaris.
We can’t recommend this outfitter highly enough – we both had an incredible time and can’t wait to return soon and enjoy it all again.
Victor, Lindsay, their staff and our PH, Arnold, made us feel like part of the family and immediately put us at ease. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It is not easy to blend providing a warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere together with exemplary professionalism and attention to detail but the team at Karoo Wild Safaris managed it with ease.
The accommodation and hospitality was superb: everything from the individual en-suite chalets to the communal dining room & bar to the all important fire pit and braai were first rate and we couldn’t have asked for more.
The food, all home cooked and mostly consisting of lamb from Victor and Lindsay’s nearby farm or game, was exceptional as well as plentiful and the perfect fuel for early starts and long days out on the veld. And the local beers and wines were the perfect accompaniment.
The variety and quality of the animals we saw far exceeded my expectations. As did the ability for Arnold and Mitchell, our tracker, to spot, age and assess game from a moving vehicle or from the briefest of partial glimpses while out on foot. They were generous with their knowledge, taking the time to teach us a little about their craft which further added to the enjoyment of the days we spent on the ground with them.
We made memories that will last a lifetime and are already planning our return, knowing that we are sure to enjoy the next trip even more.
