Hunting Safari with friends in South Africa

Stacy, Rob, Ken, Andrea and Melinda hunt plains game in the Eastern Cape

Sable Hunt

We welcomed a large group of friends from Montana and Tennessee on a plains game hunt with us in July. Stacy hunted with Jaco as his guide, Jason guided Ken and Rob on their hunt and I toured with Andrea and Melinda showing them some of the highlights of the Karoo.

We split the 8-day hunt with some time at Karoo Wild Lodge and a few days in our Camdeboo concession hunting a variety of plains game. Stacy had the first African hunt of a lifetime taking over 20 animals during his safari including 2 black backed jackal, roan, sable, kudu, eland, nyala, golden wildebeest, common and black impala, a variety of blesbok and springbok colour variants, duiker, steenbok, black wildebeest and red hartebeest. He wasn't quite down done and took down the klipspringer of the season high up in the mountains above the lodge on the last morning.

Ken hunted our Kudu Hunting Package and got a fantastic kudu, gemsbok, impala and springbok. He also hunted a waterbuck, baboon and black wildebeest. Rob chose our Karoo Special Package and hunted a kudu, impala, springbok, zebra and added an eland, nyala, bushbuck, blue wildebeest, steenbok, duiker and sable to his hunt.

Andrea, Melinda and myself toured Port Elizabeth, Addo and Graaff Reinet. We spent a day viewing elephants in the Addo Elephant National Park and a morning on the Indian Ocean viewing seals, penguins, dolphins and whales with Raggy Charters. We visited historical Graaff Reinet and shopped in many of the towns quaint shops. The ladies joined the boys on some of their hunts and came into close contact with elephant, buffalo and white rhino during their time hunting.

It was a busy but very enjobale 8 days, makingt he absolute most of what our part of Africa has to offer. Thank you for choosing Karoo Wild Safaris to guide you on your first African hunting experience!
