Health and medical considerations to take into account when hunting in Africa

It’s advisable to take out medical insurance for your Africa hunting trip. South Africa has world class healthcare professionals and medical facilities. Our professional hunters are trained in first aid and first aid kits are available in the lodge and hunting vehicles.

The Eastern Cape and Free State Provinces are not a malaria area and anti-malarial prophylaxis aren’t required. No other special vaccinations are required. 

The Lowveld area of South Africa is a malaria area and anti-malarial prophylaxis are recommended when hunting here.

Zambia and Zimbabwe are malaria areas and malarial prophylaxis are recommended. No other special vaccinations are required.

Please bring along original scripts and boxes of any prescription medication you’re currently taking.
