An African hunting package for the sought-after Spiral Slam, includes all members of the African spiral horned antelope family. The hunting trip takes place in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Karoo Wild Lodge is our home base with 1-2 days at our satellite camp on a big five concession in the Graaff Reinet area. The lodge exudes a quiet luxury and is family friendly. Day tours to non-hunting attractions are available for hunters and observers. Multi day add-on tours are available.
A hunting package that includes a trophy kudu is always a popular choice. Kudu are the iconic spiral horn African hunting species. Our hunting areas have an exceptionally high density of trophy kudu and the hunting is world class.
Nyala are closely related to the kudu and nyala hunting is equally exciting. Nyala are shy and emerge from thick bush to graze in the early morning and late afternoon.
Eland are the largest spiral horn plains game species, almost weighing as much as cape buffalo. A trophy eland will have a large dewlap and a tuft of dark hair on his forehead. When hunting eland, mature bulls can be spotted from several kilometers away. Their dark blue colour, earned them the African hunting term of "blue bulls".
Bushbuck are the the most elusive of African antelope. Although common, they will only feed in the open when they feel completely safe. Typically they will feed in short periods around 9am, 12pm and an hour before dark. Hunting bushbuck is done by spot and stalk. Pack a good pair of binoculars, you will spend a lot of time looking through them.
Animal species in the hunting package can be swopped upon consultation with us. Additional species can also be hunted. Any species in the package not successfully hunted will be refunded at 85% of the custom price for the species
